It's really nice to celebrate special holidays like christmas with your family. No matter how big or small the celebration is , as long as you're with your loved ones , the memories are really priceless. Hope my friends and fellow bloggers feel the same way too. Merry Christmas to everyone!
I've been extremely busy this month , the reason why I cannot even update my blog though I would really want to. Excessive spending on shopping , as Christmas is fast approaching I notice that I'm spending too much than I normally would. I'm also busy attending holiday party almost every week added by unexpected reunion schedule set by my high school batchmates.
Our featured video for today grab my attention while waiting for my friend at 7-eleven. The popular convenience store has a large television displayed on it's wall showing music videos. This song really caught my attention and instantly changed my mood. I never noticed that I was waiting too long for my friend to arrive while listening to it and it even push myself to update my blog and post it here. Enjoy.
I'm having a hard time imagining if I were really a boy even for just one day. This song of Beyonce makes me wonder sometimes how difficult or perhaps how cool life is if I were really a boy. Will I always chase girls? or may be it'll be really fun to be engaged on mostly "boy sports" like basketball , baseball , soccer or tennis. This song sometimes makes me laugh if I'm using my imagination while listening to it. A good song to listen to if you want sometimes to escape from reality of being a girl. There's a big difference between being a boy and being a girl, finding the right thing to do and keeping the right attitude perhaps will be the key of being happy and contented whatever gender you have. Enjoy the song...

As time went on Demi pursued her singing and instrumental career, and she guest starred on Prison Break, Split Ends (pilot) and Just Jordan. In January 2007 she landed a series regular role as Charlotte Adams on the Disney Channel original short series As the Bell Rings, which premiered on August 26, 2007 during Disney's Back-to-School special night. She will soon be starring in a new Disney Channel original series called Sonny With a Chance that began production in September 2008.
She is an excellent singer and a good songwriter as well as a musician, playing guitar and piano since the age of eleven. Demi is one of the most promising teen pop singer today. I love listening to her songs and reading write-ups about her, I also frequent her blog which really has a vast number of fans and followers. Featuring today is one of my favorite song of Demi which is “This Is Me". Below is a scene in Final Jam at the end of Camp Rock. I downloaded this one from Youtube and I think this full video came from the TheSawRemix.
LYRICS:
I've always been the kind of girl That hid my face So afraid to tell the world What I've got to say But I have this dream Bright inside of me I'm gonna let it show, it's time To let you know To let you know
This is real, this is me I'm exactly where I'm suppose to be, now Gonna let the light, shine on me Now I've found, who I am There's no way to hold it in No more hiding who I want to be This is me
Do you know what it's like To feel so in the dark To dream about a life Where you're the shining star Even though it seems Like it's too far away I have to believe in myself It's the only way
This is real, This is me I'm exactly where I'm suppose to be, now Gonna let the light, shine on me Now I've found, who I am There's no way to hold it in No more hiding who I want to be This is me
You're the voice I hear inside my head The reason that I'm singing I need to find you, I gotta find you You're the missing piece I need The song inside of me I need to find you, I gotta find you
This is real, this is me I'm exactly where I'm suppose to be, now Gonna let the light, shine on me
Her great songs will really lift your heart, warm your soul and make you feel good. Colbie Marie Caillat is her real name and she was born May 28, 1985 in Newbury Park, California.
Caillat grew up in the idyllic clime of Malibu, California with music all around her. Her father, Ken Caillat, co-produced Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" and "Tusk" albums and later ran his own record label. As a child she recalls the likes of Mick Fleetwood and John McVie being around. "Of course I've learned a lot from them. You'd be a fool not to," she says. Yet she is totally her own woman.
She began singing with serious intent at the age of 11 after hearing Lauryn Hill's version of Killing Me Softly. "I think her voice is absolutely beautiful and it made me want to start singing so I entered a talent show and of course I sang a Lauryn Hill song." As she grew older, however, her father offered one crucial piece of advice. It was all very well having a great voice, he pointed out, the people who command real respect in the music business are the songwriters. "I thought about that for a long time", she says.
The popularity of Caillat's MySpace profile led her to become the number-one unsigned singer in her genre for four months. Her popularity on the social network was partially due to her song "Bubbly," and the songs on her profile have been played more than forty-six million times (as of May 31, 2008). For the week of July 17, 2007, "Bubbly" was featured on the iTunes Store as the free "Single of the Week". The promotion coincided with the release of Coco, her debut studio album. Caillat was also spotlighted by Rhapsody during the 2007 Black Friday Sale at Best Buy.
Giving you the hottest hit on my list of favorites , let's listen to her cool song Bubbly:
Another personal favorite, "Thank God I Found You" is a song written and produced by Ms. Mariah Carey, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis for Mariah Carey's sixth album entitled Rainbow (1999). It features Joe, and boyband 98 Degrees, and was inspired by Carey's boyfriend at the time, Luis Miguel. The romantic ballad provides a metaphorical closure for Carey's album Rainbow, as it is the "rainbow" that comes after the "storm" . It was released with a remix as the second single from the album in 2000 (see 2000 in music) and reached number one in the United States, but was only moderately successful in other countries.
The song continuously captures my heart everytime I hear it and I won't mind listening to the song and watching the video all day long. I hope you'll enjoy it too....

Rock songs , personally speaking , has never been my favorite. But it's noticeable that rock singers and artists are really amazing in creating love songs. To name a few , there's Bon Jovi , Aerosmith and Mr. Big . Our next artists pic doesn't seems to fit on a blog decorated by a butterfly , but who says that we have a limitation on posting an artist's picture or song here? As long as the song touches the soul, there's always a place for that here.
Alice Cooper (born Vincent Damon Furnier; February 4, 1948) is an American rock singer, songwriter and a musician. With a stage show that features guillotines, electric chairs, fake blood, and boa constrictors, Cooper has drawn equally from horror movies, vaudeville, heavy metal, and garage rock to create a theatrical brand of rock music that would come to be known as shock rock.
Without Alice Cooper, there might never have been the NY Dolls, KISS, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, Motley Crue, Slipknot or Rob Zombie ... maybe not even David Bowie, or at least not Ziggy Stardust. The iconic hard rocker, who literally invented the concept of the rock concert as theater, returns to what he does best on Along Came a Spider (SPV Records), the 25th studio album of a long and illustrious career which began in 1969 with the release of Pretties for You on Frank Zappa's Straight label.
Alice Cooper is known for his social and witty persona offstage, The Rolling Stone Album Guide going so far as to refer to him as the world's most "beloved heavy metal entertainer". He helped to shape the sound and look of heavy metal, and is seen as being the person who "first introduced horror imagery to rock'n'roll, and whose stagecraft and showmanship have permanently transformed the genre". Away from music, Cooper is a film actor, a golfing celebrity, a restaurateur and, since 2004, a popular radio DJ with his classic rock shows Nights with Alice Cooper.
You may visit his website, actually one of the weirdest I’ve seen, at http://www.alicecooper.com/, for more information. Our featured song is a personal favorite of a very best friend of my boyfriend who will be graduating at De La Salle University this coming October 11, 2008. A tribute for Mr. Alberto Mangahas, I Never Cry by Alice Cooper.(Reference: http://www.alicecooper.com/ and wikipedia)

One of the famous band during the 80's, Ambrosia. Members include guitarist/vocalist David Pack, bassist/vocalist Joe Puerta, keyboardist Christopher North, and drummer Burleigh Drummond.
During 1970, Ambrosia was considered as a rock band. In 1976, the band remade the Beatle's song "Magical Mystery Tour" for a movie called "All This And World War II".
Ambrosia's biggest pop breakthrough came in 1978 with the number three hit "How Much I Feel." The band followed this success in 1980 with another number three hit, "Biggest Part of Me," and the number 13 follow-up "You're the Only Woman."
Their fourth album, One Eighty, released in 1980, change the band from rock to pop. This album earned the band three Grammy nominations, including Best Pop Vocal Group.
I included the lyrics of one of my fave song , I just Can't Let Go. You can also watch a video about the song on this site.
Ooohh, Oh, what's the matter baby? Is the truth too hard to hear Well, I think you know I'm not the one who lied And now it's all behind us And we both play out our lives But the years don't change the way I feel inside
So we play the game out Though it feels the same now Are you missin' me?
Well now, baby just be aware Of how much I still care Ohhhh, I need your love
I gave to you My heart and soul Now I just need To let you know You're part of me That I just can't let go (go, go) Go (go, go)
Well, tell me somethin' baby Is there still some thing inside To remind you of the way it used to be? And how the years have rolled by Still there's somethin' I must say No one ever could have loved you more than me
So I'm passin' time now (Oooh) Wishin' you were mine now (Oooh) Are you missin' me? (Are you missin' me?) (Oooh)
Well you know it's not too late (Oooh) Oh, how long must I wait (Oooh) Ohhhh, to hear you say
I gave to you My heart and soul (Yeay-ah) Now I just need To let you know You're part of me That I just can't let go (go, go) Go (go, go)
(And I) And I need your love And I need your love Everywhere I go there's a memory (And) If you can't decide on me (Wooohh) Well you gotta make up your mind Someday you're gonna find You just might need me (Meeee)
Ohhh, baby Ah Oooh
Well now, baby just be aware Of how much I still care Ohhhh, I need your love
I gave to you (gave) My heart and soul (heart and soul) (heart and soul) Now I just need (I just need to let you know) To let you know You're part of me that (Part of me, yeah) I just can't let (That I just) Part of me that (Part of me) I just can't let (Baby) Part of me that (I just can't let) I just can't let go (go, go) (Can't let go, babe, no) Go (go, go) (But I need you baby, so bad, baby) (Ooohh) Go (go, go) (I just can't let go, no, baby) (No matter how many years we're apart, I) Go (go, go) (I still hold you here in my heart, baby) Go (go, go) (Can't let go, babe, no, no) Go (go, go) (Ahhhh, just can't let go, just can't let go) (Yeah)
Born William Royce Scaggs in Ohio on June 8, 1944, he was raised in Oklahoma and Texas, and while attending prep school in Dallas met guitarist Steve Miller. After joining Miller's group the Marksmen as a vocalist in 1959, the pair later attended the University of Wisconsin together, playing in blues bands like the Ardells and the Fabulous Knight Trains. One of the famous American singer, songwriter and guitarist during the 70's, he gained fame with several Top 20 hits in the United States.
In 1976, he linked up with other musicians who would later form Toto and recorded his smash album Silk Degrees. The album reached number 2 on the U.S. charts with the hit singles "Lowdown", "Lido Shuffle", and "What Can I Say", as well as "We're All Alone", later covered by Rita Coolidge and Frankie Valli.
In 1988 , Scaggs "Heart of Mine" from Other Roads was one of his final top 40 hit and considered as a major adult contemporary success. This will be my latest choice as our song of the day:
American rock band Toto photographed during their 2007 tour at the Moondance Jam concert. From left to right: Tony Spinner, Greg Phillinganes, Bobby Kimball, Steve Lukather, Simon Phillips, and Leland Sklar (Photo from : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Totolive.jpg )
One of the famous American rock band during the 80's , Toto, a Grammy Award winning band founded in 1977. Their music never ceases to enchant me whenever I hear them over the radio. I decided to ask wiki for more information about the band and here’s what I found.
“According to popular myth, in order to distinguish their own demo tapes from other bands' in the studio, Jeff Porcaro wrote the word "Toto" on them. Although one popular rumor is that the name came from Bobby Kimball's "true" last name, 'Toteaux,' this rumor was in fact only a joke popularized by former bassist David Hungate. After the completion of the first album, the band and record were still un-named. David Hungate, after viewing the name on the demo tapes, explained to the group that the word "Toto" in Latin translated to "all-encompassing". Because the band members had played on so many different records and many different musical genres, they adopted the name Toto as their own. The band's name may have elicited a few laughs when they first toured Japan. TOTO is the name of Japan's largest toilet manufacturer. Also, despite their popularity in Africa (largely due to their song of the same name), in Nigeria and Sierra Leone, the band's name in many languages is the same as a slang term for the vagina. The name "Toto" is also well-known as the name of Dorothy's dog in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz books and the famous 1939 film.”
One of their featured hits from the album Fahrenheit, I picked I’ll Be Over You as my top choice among their award winning pop songs. Here it is.
Just a gentle whisper, told me that you'd gone Leaving only memorie, where did we go wrong? I couldn't find the words then, so let me say them now I'm still in love with you
Tell me that you love me, tell me that you care Tell me that you need me, and I'll be there I'll be there waiting
I will always love you, I will always stay true There's no one who loves you like I do Come to me now I will never leave you, I will stay here with you Through the good and bad I will stand true I'm in love with you
Now we're here together, yesterday has past Life is just beginning, close to you at last And I promise to you, I will always be there I give my all to you
Living life without you is more than I can bear Hold me close forever, I'll be there.... I'll be there for you
I will always love you, I will always stay true There's no one who loves you like I do This I promise... I will never leave you, I will stay here with you Through the good and bad I will stand true Hold me closer... Our love is forever, holding us together Nothing in this world can stop us now Love has found, love has found a way
I'm in love, I'm in love Yes, I'm in love, so in love I'm in love with you
