Yep, the blog is still working and the blogger is still alive , hehe. This is the hard part if you're not a full time blogger, you want to write, but you don't have the time , you have the PC but you don't have the idea, you're in the mood but you're not at home, you're online but you're pre-occupied by other things and you're stressed-out , that's the only time that you'll gonna write. Gulo noh?

Anyway, it's really a very stressful month and for the coming weeks , the worst has yet to come. Please excuse my grammar coz I don't have time to review my post, (see? i'm very busy). But I have to post this one because it let me forget that I'm too busy , even for just a few moment.

This cover photo of Time Magazine was really eye catching. He has a lot of picture on the web but this one was really nice. Most picture of the King of Pop was taken after he had gone facial surgery, some of them are being used as a center of their humor or to ridicule him, some people even deliberately altered them to look funny. Maybe they don't know how much Michael Jackson contributed to the music industry. How brilliant he is in creating all his unforgettable songs. Of course the controversies he had been through has been unforgettable also , but hey , we don't know what's the real thing about these stories.

Michael has a lot of wonderful songs , for this issue, I'll just post a very meaningful song to say goodbye to him. I'll post a favorite video later on.

Another great song got my attention again while doing rounds on a consumer friendly supermarket which is known for selling items in a very affordable price. It was Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis. Instead of posting the original video of the song plus lyrics, I decided to put the Hip-Hop routine video of Chelsie and Mark which I saw at SYTYCD before. It's a real wonderful performance from the two which I hope you'll like it too. Enjoy!

Got a chance to bump this article on the web, the link was given to me by one of my colleagues at the office. And I was thinking that there's no harm in giving it a try. Here's the rest of it:

Recently in the news was talk of how Beyoncé Knowles lost weight quickly for her role in the film Dreamgirls. Beyoncé went on what is more commonly known as the Maple Syrup Diet, which is in fact a form of fasting, rather than dieting.

Beyoncé’s Maple Syrup Diet simply involves eating no solid food at all. Instead, a mixture of lemon juice, Grade B/Medium Maple Syrup, water and Cayenne pepper is drunk. This mix can be taken cold, as a cordial, or hot, as a tea. The mix contains some essential vitamins and minerals.

As solid food is not eaten it is necessary to help the digestive system eliminate material and avoid constipation. This is achieved in two ways: laxative tea is taken every night, and in the morning, 32 ounces of lukewarm sea salt water serves as a top-down enema. This passes through the digestive system extremely quickly—30-60 minutes.

The diet is for a recommended minimum of ten days, although it is not uncommon for people to stay on the cleanse for longer periods of time. Fasting for such long periods requires careful breaking, as intestinal cultures need to re-develop and mucus linings re-build. This usually involves drinking “full strength” juices for a day or two, while slowly adding in soups, then fruit, vegetables and nuts before resuming a regular diet. This fast break is an ideal time to add probiotics to re-establish a healthy intestinal culture.

Maple Syrup Diet Recipe:

2 tablespoons (1 fluid ounce) freshly squeezed lemon or lime juice (approx. 1/2 lemon)

2 tablespoons (1 fluid ounce) organic Grade B maple syrup

1/10 Teaspoon or more cayenne pepper - as much as you can comfortable cope with

1 Cup (8 fluid ounces) purified or spring water

Beyoncé’s Maple Syrup Diet is said by Stanley Burroughs and later authors to eliminate toxins and congestion that have built up in the body. Because it is not a complete source of macro-nutrients, it should be considered as another form of fasting, rather than a diet.

Supporters of the Maple Syrup Diet have credited it with helping them lose weight and reduce stomach fat, increase energy, and even alleviate some chronic diseases.

Some in the entertainment industry have misunderstood fasting as a weight loss diet. Recently, the Maple Syrup Diet received media attention as a result of being embraced by some celebrities. The singer/actress Beyoncé did it for 14 days and lost 22 lb (9 kg) for her role in the 2006 movie Dreamgirls. Howard Stern’s cohost Robin Quivers claims to have lost 73 lb using the Master Cleanse. Similarly, Jared Leto says he lost the weight he gained to play ‘Mark David Chapman’ (he gained 62 lb) all from the Maple Syrup Diet

The Different Juice Fasting Stages of Detoxification

Stage 1 (Day 1 To Day 2) On the first day of fasting, the blood sugar level drops below 70 mg/dl. To restore the blood to the normal glucose level, liver glycogen is converted to glucose and released into the blood. This reserve is enough for half a day. The body then reduces the basal metabolic rate (BMR). The rate of internal chemical activity in resting tissue is lowered to conserve energy. The heart slows and blood pressure is reduced. Glycogen is pulled from the muscle causing some weakness. The first wave of cleansing is usually the worst.

Headaches, dizziness, nausea, bad breath, glazed eyes and a heavily coated tongue are signs of the first stage of cleansing. Hunger can be the most intense in this period unless the enema is used which quickly assists the body into the fasting state by ending digestion in the colon.

Stage 2 (Day 3 To Day 7) Fats, composed of transformed fatty acids, are broken down to release glycerol from the glyceride molecules and are converted to glucose. The skin may become oily as rancid oils are purged from the body. People with problem-free skin may have a few days of pimples or even a boil. A pallid complexion is also a sign of waste in the blood. Ketones are formed by the incomplete oxidation of fats. It is suspected that the ketones in the blood suppress the appetite by affecting the food-satiety centre in the hypothalamus. You may feel hungry for the first few days of the fast. This effect is temporary. The desire to eat will disappear. Lack of hunger may last 40 to 60 days, depending on whether you are on water or juice.

The body embraces the fast and the digestive system is able to take a much-needed rest, focusing all of its energies on cleansing and healing. White blood cell and immune system activity increases. You may feel pain in your lungs. The cleansing organs and the lungs are in the process of being repaired. Periodically, the lymphatic system expels mucous matter through the nose or throat. The volume excreted of this yellow-coloured mucus can be shocking. The sinuses go through periods of being clogged, then will totally clear. The breath is still foul and the tongue coated. Within the intestine, the colon is being repaired and impacted faeces on the intestinal wall start to loosen.

Stage 3 (Day 8 to Day 15) On the latter part of an extended fast, you can experience enhanced energy, clear-mindedness and feel better than you have felt since childhood. On the downside, old injuries may become irritated and painful. This is a result of the body’s increased ability to heal during fasting. If you had broken your arm 10 years before, there is scar tissue around the break. At the time of the break, the body’s ability to heal was directly related to lifestyle. If you lived on a junk-food diet, the body’s natural healing ability was compromised.

During fasting, the body’s healing process is at optimum efficiency. As the body scours for dead or damaged tissue, the lymphocytes enter the older, damaged tissue secreting substances to dissolve the damaged cells. These substances irritate the nerves in the surrounding region and cause a re occurrence of aches from previously injured areas that may have disappeared years earlier. The pain is good as the body is completing the healing process. The muscles may become tight and sore due to toxin irritation. The legs can be the worst affected, as toxins accumulate in the legs. Cankers are common in this stage due to the excessive bacteria in the mouth. Daily gargling with salt and water will prevent or heal cankers.

Stage 4 (Day 16 to Day 30) The body is completely adapted to the fasting process. There is more energy and clarity of mind. Cleansing periods can be short with many days of feeling good in between. There are days when the tongue is pink and the breath is fresh. The healing work of the organs is being completed. After the detoxification mechanisms have removed the causative agent or render it harmless, the body works at maximum capacity in tissue proliferation to replace damaged tissue. While a short fast will reduce the symptoms, a longer fast can completely heal. Homoeostatic balance is at optimum levels. The lymphatic system is clean except for a rare discharge of mucus through the nose or throat. After day 20, the mind is affected. Heightened clarity and emotional balance are felt at this time. Memory and concentration improve.

Stage 5 (Breaking the Fast) The sticky, toxic, mucous coating on the intestinal wall is loose, and the first meal frees it from the intestinal wall. Toxins enter the blood through the colon. The gallbladder dumps its waste in a heavy discharge of bile. This can cause an instant bowel movement upon eating followed by intense diarrhoea. If the symptoms are too uncomfortable, an enema will help.

Some critics point to lack of essential nutrients in Beyoncé’s Maple Syrup Diet, citing a deficiency of protein, vitamins, and minerals. As a result of these deficiencies, individuals on the diet may experience dizziness, delirium, and fainting in the short term, with possible damage to the body occurring in longer-term applications. Many authors assert the benefits of fasting are related to its lack of nutrients, particularly macronutrients. People with intestinal conditions such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome may experience added discomfort while on the cleanse.

There is a risk that the saltwater flush may remove both beneficial and harmful bacteria from the body. A no-food diet may cause the gut to stop passing food, resulting in constipation, or may make the consumption of food immediately after the fast painful. These are the important reasons to follow the fasts’ instructions correctly.

Beyoncé Knowles said of her decision to adopt the Maple Syrup diet: “My nutritionist suggested the only way to do that was the maple syrup fast. As soon as it was over, I gained the weight back.

“I’m very conscious of being a curvy woman and I’m very happy that I am a curvy woman.”

She added: “I would never recommend it to anyone unless you are doing a movie and it’s necessary, and you have proper help.”

Remember that people like Beyonce Knowles have a great incentive to lose weight fast, as this ensures that they win contracts to appear in films, commercials and television. These diets are not really that healthy, and it is recommended that a longer term approach to weight loss is taken. Crash diets can be a useful way to kick-start yourself into a healthy lifestyle, as quick results can give you the boost of confidence that is often needed. However, they should not be considered long term solutions to weight problems. We recommend a good balance of healthy diet and regular exercise. Also, remember to consult your family doctor before embarking on a period fasting or extreme dieting.

If you revert to your old ways after this fast, you will gain nothing, and maybe actually put on more weight. Yoyo dieting is not good for your health, and cannot be sustained long term. Eat healthy, exercise hard.

Britain really has great talents. It was like watching a breaking news on Inside Edition where I first saw Susan Boyle , 47. She got three "yes" from the judges including Simon Cowell who was also amazed by her pleasant voice. Watching the video , you will see some of the audience are not quite impressed at first , obviously judging her appearance , but they were all stunned by her impressive voice while singing "I Dreamed a Dream" from the broadway musical "Les Miserables". I was also laughing at first when I saw the title of the episode , "Leave Her Hair Alone". Maybe she will rise to stardom someday like Paul Potts.

They play this song once in a blue moon on my favorite radio station which is known for streaming mostly classic and mellow music. It's been a while since I heard the song until I saw the performance of Ms. Dulce together with two singers that I already forgot the name, on a variety show last Sunday. I said to myself that I should post that beautiful song here.

"I Don't Know How to Love Him" is a song which was originally featured on the #1 album Jesus Christ Superstar , released in October of 1970. Yvonne Elliman was the original recording artist of this fantastic song. Since then , a lot of famous artists revived the song and included it on their album. These includes Helen Reddy , Petula Clark , Bonnie Tyler and Sinead O' Connor to name a few. I even saw another version @ you tube performed by Ms. Lea Salonga and I found it amazing also but I decided to post here the original version by Yvonne which I loved most. A song which suits the sacredness of the Holy Week.

It's been a while since my last post , I'm not that too busy , I'm just not in a mood to post some updates this past few weeks. I apologize to my co-bloggers since I was not able to respond on their messages, but don't ya worry people , I'm back on the track and hey! you know that do happen , ayt?

One of the few memorable things that happened to me last month was when my boyfriend and I went to Glorietta to watch the album launching of my fave singer, Regine Velasquez. He's not an avid fan of Regine but he definitely like the selection of songs mostly from the 80's. And I Love You So , which was originally sang ( i guess) by Perry Como but the Don McLean version is what he liked most was also included on the album. The album consists of revival songs of Beatles, Janis Ian, Billy Joel and other famous various artists. The song which touch my heart was Leader of the Band , originally sang by Dan Fogelberg. Looking for a video that I could embed for this stuff is really hard due to some copyrights issues on most popular websites . I've been extremely busy this month , the reason why I cannot even update my blog though I would really want to. Excessive spending on shopping , as Christmas is fast approaching I notice that I'm spending too much than I normally would. I'm also busy attending holiday party almost every week added by unexpected reunion schedule set by my high school batchmates.

Our featured video for today grab my attention while waiting for my friend at 7-eleven. The popular convenience store has a large television displayed on it's wall showing music videos. I'm having a hard time imagining if I were really a boy even for just one day. This song of Beyonce makes me wonder sometimes how difficult or perhaps how cool life is if I were really a boy. Will I always chase girls? or may be it'll be really fun to be engaged on mostly "boy sports" like basketball , baseball , soccer or tennis. This song sometimes makes me laugh if I'm using my imagination while listening to it. A good song to listen to if you want sometimes to escape from reality of being a girl. Her great songs will really lift your heart, warm your soul and make you feel good. Colbie Marie Caillat is her real name and she was born May 28, 1985 in Newbury Park, California.

Caillat grew up in the idyllic clime of Malibu, California with music all around her. Her father, Ken Caillat, co-produced Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" and "Tusk" albums and later ran his own record label. As a child she recalls the likes of Mick Fleetwood and John McVie being around. Another personal favorite, "Thank God I Found You" is a song written and produced by Ms. Mariah Carey, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis for Mariah Carey's sixth album entitled Rainbow (1999). It features Joe, and boyband 98 Degrees, and was inspired by Carey's boyfriend at the time, Luis Miguel. The romantic ballad provides a metaphorical closure for Carey's album Rainbow, as it is the "rainbow" that comes after the "storm" . It was released with a remix as the second single from the album in 2000 (see 2000 in music) and reached number one in the United States, but was only moderately successful in other countries.

The song continuously captures my heart everytime I hear it and I won't mind listening to the song and watching the video all day long. I hope you'll enjoy it too....

Rock songs , personally speaking , has never been my favorite. But it's noticeable that rock singers and artists are really amazing in creating love songs. To name a few , there's Bon Jovi , Aerosmith and Mr. Big . Our next artists pic doesn't seems to fit on a blog decorated by a butterfly , but who says that we have a limitation on posting an artist's picture or song here? As long as the song touches the soul, there's always a place for that here.

Alice Cooper (born Vincent Damon Furnier; February 4, 1948) is an American rock singer, songwriter and a musician. With a stage show that features guillotines, electric chairs, fake blood, and boa constrictors, Cooper has drawn equally from horror movies, vaudeville, heavy metal, and garage rock to create a theatrical brand of rock music that would come to be known as shock rock.

Without Alice Cooper, there might never have been the NY Dolls, KISS, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, Motley Crue, Slipknot or Rob Zombie ... maybe not even David Bowie, or at least not Ziggy Stardust. The iconic hard rocker, who literally invented the concept of the rock concert as theater, returns to what he does best on Along Came a Spider (SPV Records), the 25th studio album of a long and illustrious career which began in 1969 with the release of Pretties for You on Frank Zappa's Straight label.

One of the famous band during the 80's, Ambrosia. Members include guitarist/vocalist David Pack, bassist/vocalist Joe Puerta, keyboardist Christopher North, and drummer Burleigh Drummond.

During 1970, Ambrosia was considered as a rock band. In 1976, the band remade the Beatle's song "Magical Mystery Tour" for a movie called "All This And World War II".

Ambrosia's biggest pop breakthrough came in 1978 with the number three hit "How Much I Feel." The band followed this success in 1980 with another number three hit, "Biggest Part of Me," and the number 13 follow-up "You're the Only Woman."

Their fourth album, One Eighty, released in 1980, change the band from rock to pop. This album earned the band three Grammy nominations, including Best Pop Vocal Group.

Heart of Mine by Boz Scaggs

Born William Royce Scaggs in Ohio on June 8, 1944, he was raised in Oklahoma and Texas, and while attending prep school in Dallas met guitarist Steve Miller. After joining Miller's group the Marksmen as a vocalist in 1959, the pair later attended the University of Wisconsin together, playing in blues bands like the Ardells and the Fabulous Knight Trains. One of the famous American singer, songwriter and guitarist during the 70's, he gained fame with several Top 20 hits in the United States.

In 1976, he linked up with other musicians who would later form Toto and recorded his smash album Silk Degrees. The album reached number 2 on the U.S. charts with the hit singles "Lowdown", "Lido Shuffle", and "What Can I Say", as well as "We're All Alone", later covered by Rita Coolidge and Frankie Valli.

In 1988 , Scaggs "Heart of Mine" from Other Roads was one of his final top 40 hit and considered as a major adult contemporary success. This will be my latest choice as our song of the day:

One of the famous American rock band during the 80's , Toto, a Grammy Award winning band founded in 1977. Their music never ceases to enchant me whenever I hear them over the radio. I decided to ask wiki for more information about the band and here’s what I found.

“According to popular myth, in order to distinguish their own demo tapes from other bands' in the studio, Jeff Porcaro wrote the word "Toto" on them. Although one popular rumor is that the name came from Bobby Kimball's "true" last name, 'Toteaux,' this rumor was in fact only a joke popularized by former bassist David Hungate. After the completion of the first album, the band and record were still un-named. David Hungate, after viewing the name on the demo tapes, explained to the group that the word "Toto" in Latin translated to "all-encompassing". Because the band members had played on so many different records and many different musical genres, they adopted the name Toto as their own. The band's name may have elicited a few laughs when they first toured Japan. TOTO is the name of Japan's largest toilet manufacturer. Also, despite their popularity in Africa (largely due to their song of the same name), in Nigeria and Sierra Leone, the band's name in many languages is the same as a slang term for the vagina. The name "Toto" is also well-known as the name of Dorothy's dog in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz books and the famous 1939 film.”
